Oyster Bay, LI to Port Jefferson, NY

Sat Aug 12 plan. to sail to Port Jefferson, Long Island.

After fixing and maintaining a few things, we decided to sail and try not to motor as far as we can or to just Port Jeffertson.

Plan for Sunday, is to get up early to make it to Block Island, RI.

We are trying to get our internet speed increased, but company is hard to get through to. When we do that,  uploading photos will be faster for us, and we'll catch up with photo posting.

Port Jefferson is a place shared by all kinds of commercial and recreational boats in close quarters! The narrow entrance is shared by big ferries, tug pushed barges, power and sail of all sizes, including megayachts, PWCs. Inside there are several coves where boats anchor. We saw beaches, dunes, waterskiiers, tourboats and party boats full of happy people.

Pair of smokestacks on the right tell you're in Port J

The cove harboring shallow draft boats. Only a couple remained at night.

Storm went over us overnight, lots of thunder, lightning and wind. Anchor drag alarm woke us up in the middle of the night, so we stayed in the cockpit a bit ready to start the motor if the anchor got loose again.
We knew a strom would come so we left the side Eisenglass windows upu in the cockpit --- so glad we did.
