We chose Wednesday and Wed night to sail because the winds would be good (10-15 knots) and steady on a beam reach. We sailed the majority of the time on a port tack, for 24 hours, with all sails up. Very few other boats were out.
Also a storm was forecast for Thursday afternoon.
