Work at the Dock - June 2023

June 28, We are on B Dock now, at the Delaware City Marina

1. Clutch switch
2. Varnishing the rails
3. Davits first try with the dinghy

1. The main halyard clutch teeth are getting warn just a little. It's the biggest line that has the most tension. We switched the clutch pair used for the main with a mizzen line clutch. Taking it out wasn't too hard considering it was glued and sealed very well to avoid leaks. These cost a pretty penny. Replacing not necessary yet.

View from below.
Took a white ceiling panel out and a layer of foam insulation.

2. We took off the 3 pieces of stem-iron, taped the deckside and below, sanded, taped a drape curtain,
and applied three coats of varnish to each rail.

3. The davits tucked in.

Dave and I planned to carry it this way to the ramp slowly which is only a mile away.
The plug got pulled out later : ).   Will need to practice tomorrow getting onto the boat from the dinghy. (including with the OB motor and lifesling in the way)

It will need some cross reinforcement to keep from swinging in all directions. We'll add that later as we see where what is needed.

Next up are solar panels, Semco the deck, reinstall the lifelines (includes poss new cable which will require measuring and crimping) add 2 sail stackpacks, add 4 sails, bimini, dodger and winch covers, bring on the outboard, generator and eventually install a watermaker.
