The cowl vents or "dorade vents" let air in but keep the spray out. They can be pointed in any direction. They are made in pairs to let air come in and let air out. Often they are set with one of the pair pointed forward for fresh air and one pointed aft. In heavy weather, they can be pointed away from incoming waves to minimize water capture.

We also have screw-on flat covers that one can put on the top instead of the cowl, and in the cabin to keep heat in.
The hatch covers require unsnapping on top, then unlocking down below.

It's nice the window can go verticle for putting stuff down below.
To fully air out the cabin, we open the front hatch and the back hatch for air to go in the front and out the back.
