Planning a Cruise from The Delaware Bay to New England and About Justice - Claire and David

We are planning a cruise along the Atlantic Coast this Spring from Delaware Bay to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and back. It will be our first long ocean passage together. We hope there will be a good weather window on May 20th to cast off the lines and make our way down the Delaware Bay.

About Justice:

Justice is strong, heavy and stable. Her standing rigging is substantial, in that she has 14 stays holding up the Mainmast and 10 supporting the Mizzen.

A medium displacement vessel of 44 foot LOD at 30,000 pounds, so she is comfortable in a good breeze and heals very little.  A full keel vessel with cutaway forefoot, attached rudder and a feathering Maxprop wheel spinning in an aperture.

When we use our jib blade sails, all the sails are small and manageable. We have an option to use our 135% jib, (use with the inner blade) which is tempting in good weather and when we don't need to tack often. The spinnaker is asymmetrical in a sock, so it's easy to adjust, hoist and collapse.

We have a Monitor wind vane we'll try out. If you see us weaving, we might be testing it and making adjustments.

You can follow us with our MMSI # 367492040 when we have the AIS system on or see our last transmitted position. Just put the number in a ship finder website to see where we are like this one: https://www.marinetraffic.com or https://www.vesselfinder.com/ .  Except when these two websites don't keep up due to bandwidth or other reasons, it will hopefully show the current position. We will have the AIS system on while we are under way or when the radio system is powered up at anchor.
